7 LiuGong employees selected for China's 41st Antarctic expedition team
October 14,2024
Recently, LiuGong received an overseas mission notice from the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China, inviting seven LiuGong employees to participate in China's 41st Antarctic scientific expedition. This is the largest number of on-site logistics support personnel assigned since LiuGong and the China Polar Research Center (hereinafter referred to as the Polar Center) started cooperation. Together with the two wintering team members currently in Antarctica, LiuGong will have nine people working at the Great Wall Station, Zhongshan Station and Qinling Station in Antarctica at the same time.
The seven selected team members will be responsible for the logistics support of engineering machinery and the maintenance and welding of special engineering equipment at Zhongshan Station. This is the first time that the Polar Center has proactively contacted Liugong to seek support for welding skilled personnel.
2024 marks the 40th anniversary of China's polar expeditions and the 16th anniversary of Liugong's participation in polar scientific expeditions. From one person "going out to sea" to the Antarctic to dozens of people participating in on-site logistics support in the Arctic and Antarctic; from serving foreign brand engineering machinery to Liugong's multiple sets of engineering machinery equipment shining on the Antarctic continent. Currently, 80% of the engineering machinery working in Antarctica is Liugong equipment. Guided by the diversified needs of Antarctic scientific expeditions, Liugong has a deep insight into the needs of customers in extreme working conditions, analyzes the pain points of use in extreme cold scenes on site, develops powerful equipment that meets the polar environment, and provides a full range of products, services and solutions for scientific expeditions throughout the entire life cycle and the entire value chain.
The 41st Antarctic scientific expedition marks a new stage in the cooperation between LiuGong and the Polar Research Center. It is also a vivid epitome of LiuGong's continuous innovation and social responsibility. LiuGong will use more powerful equipment and better services to help China's polar scientific research continue to develop steadily.
