Sany Offshore's Unmanned Tire Crane is More Efficient than Manual Cranes

September 14,2024

On September 12, the Second Container Port Automation Transformation and Development Forum, hosted by the Container Branch of the China Port Association and co-organized by Sany Offshore Engineering, was held in Zhuhai. At the meeting, Sany Offshore Engineering officially announced that the automation efficiency of Sany H-Move2.0 tire crane has surpassed the efficiency of manual operation!

The automation efficiency of traditional tire cranes is between 15 and 16Mov/h. After the 2.0 iteration of the Sany H-Move tire crane intelligent transformation system, the actual ship efficiency at the Pacific Terminal of Tianjin Port has been increased to 20Mov/h, surpassing manual operation, with an abnormal intervention rate of only 2.78%, and the operation ratio can be increased to 1:6.

This is the first time in the industry that the efficiency of automated tire cranes has surpassed manual operation, marking a major breakthrough in my country's smart port construction and a key step in the automation transformation of major ports and terminals and the creation of world-class ports.

Sany conducts automation transformation of H-Move2.0 system at Tianjin Port

At the event, Zhang Ruxing, Secretary General of the Container Branch of China Port Association, Fu Weizhong, Chairman of Sany Offshore Engineering, Chen Jing, General Manager of Sany Offshore Engineering, and more than 200 port experts from Tianjin Port, Ningbo Zhoushan Port, Shanghai Port, Guangzhou Port, Qingdao Port, Liaoning Port, APMT, HIT, ICTSI and other global ports jointly discussed the pain points, stand-alone solutions and system solutions of terminal automation.

Zhang Ruxing, Secretary General of the Container Branch of the China Port Association, believes that automation transformation is still in the development and improvement stage. The operating efficiency of automated terminals after transformation often lacks explosive power. It is necessary to solve problems such as efficiency, reliability, and how to reduce the rate of manual intervention and improve the control ratio.

Fu Weizhong, Chairman of Sany Offshore Engineering, said that Sany Offshore Engineering has focused on the field of digitalization and is committed to finding automation solutions that can truly improve efficiency and create greater value for customers.

Sany H-Move tire cranes have undergone comprehensive technical upgrades during the 2.0 intelligent transformation process, breaking through industry bottlenecks and solving world problems, including:

The H-Move2.0 system no longer requires bottom line assistance for yard bottom opening, which improves the success rate of bottom opening and reduces the bottom opening time to less than 25 seconds.

H-Move2.0 integrates multiple technologies such as GPS, AI vision, and 3D scanning imaging to greatly improve signal reliability and ensure safe and high-speed operation of large vehicles. The speed of large vehicles can exceed 2m/s.

H-Move2.0's digital twin technology can predict and simulate the trajectory and position of the box, and the dynamic box time is shortened from 30 seconds to less than 20 seconds.

H-Move2.0's anti-collision box system scans from the original to the entire pile area, accurately calculates the best and most optimal running trajectory, and improves walking efficiency by 20%.

H-Move2.0 achieves signal multiplexing to increase redundancy, greatly improves reliability, and reduces the human intervention rate to less than 3%. In the actual operation of more than 1 million boxes, the number of equipment accidents is 0.

After the project transformation was completed, the H-Move2.0 tire crane underwent four months of actual ship testing at the terminal, and the automation operation efficiency was increased to 20Mov/h, exceeding the efficiency of manual driver operation, and successfully passed the verification.

In the future, the H-Move system will continue to iterate to 3.0, achieving a human intervention rate of less than 1%, achieving the goal of 1 controlling 10, and continue to advance to higher efficiency goals, making terminal operation and maintenance easier.
