Since the Jurassic strata are mud-cemented, the tool wears quickly, the teeth are easily blocked, the drilling pressure is high, and the mud properties are prone to sudden changes during drilling, which brings great challenges to the construction and seriously restricts the construction efficiency. The Cretaceous strata are mainly soft rocks with poor cementation, easy weathering, strong water content and pore water. When grouting this section, the pressure rises quickly, the slurry volume is small, the slurry is difficult to penetrate behind the wall, and the water system is poor. The drilling efficiency of the Jurassic and Cretaceous strata has always been the key problem hindering the development of drilling methods in the western region.

Aiming at the new technologies such as integrated intelligent control, electro-hydraulic integration, and high-strength new materials for water-rich rock formations in the western region, the company has developed a "powerful weapon" for the construction of deep and large vertical shafts - "Intelligent". This is the first domestic high-efficiency intelligent shaft drilling equipment for water-rich rock formations in the west. Its maximum drilling diameter is 12 meters, the maximum drilling depth is 800 meters, and the maximum torque of the power head is 1200 kN/m. It is also the drilling equipment with the largest torque in China. It has pioneered the construction of mine shafts in water-rich rock formations in western my country by intelligent drilling methods, and has taken an important step towards the "green, safe and intelligent" construction of coal mines.

In order to optimize the layout of coal production and development, promote the rational exploration, development and utilization of coal resources, and with the implementation of the western development strategy, a large number of deep vertical shafts of coal mines in Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Xinjiang and other regions are planned to be built, and vertical shaft projects will continue to increase, providing a relatively broad market for drilling construction. The commissioning of the "Intelligent Number" is of great significance to the breakthrough in the transformation and upgrading of vertical shaft construction in the western region from manual and mechanical excavation and masonry construction to automated intelligent construction. The "Intelligent Number" not only meets the urgent needs of coal development, but can also be used for the construction of large ventilation shafts such as railways, highways, and water tunnels.
